Our journey with this client started like many others – they had a problem and we needed to offer a solution. The client was reliant on complicated spreadsheets, diversified document storage systems, and complicated processes that made the day to day running of their HR a bit of a headache.
From leave requests being missed in the long list of an inbox, to tracking of who has what laptop, the client needed a more streamlined approach to managing their data. That’s where we stepped in.
We worked closely with the client, outlining the needs of the new system and the pain points of their current processes, all while remaining data control compliant.
They needed a simple-to-use, accessible from anywhere, and easy to update system that their HR team and all employees can use.
After a few back and fourth emails and some meetings, we had enough information to proceed to build an MVP (Minimum Viable Product). The client would then take the MVP, trial it, and then return with some feedback and updates.
The solution was fairly straight forward – a Custom HR System powered by a Laravel API, accessed by a Vue.js Frontend and persisted with a MySQL database. This checked off the second requirement from the start – Accessible from Anywhere. Their employee’s could access the web app from their laptops or their phones, from the office or from home. Secure with Single Sign-On, the process of getting on to the system was a breeze.
Following on from that, we built in the core features – leave requests, employee information management, policy acceptance and onboarding and document storage. This meant that whenever their HR team needed information, it was all in one place.
